Saskatoon, SK – February 5, 2007 - Itracks founders, Dan and Garnette Weber, celebrated the grand opening of Itracks’ Kenaston-based Research Center today. Premier Lorne Calvert, Kenaston Mayor Dan O’Handley and other dignitaries joined the event to celebrate this exciting occasion. Blackstrap MP Lynne Yelich sent greetings. This expansion is the first of its kind for the information technology industry in Saskatchewan. Itracks will be able to attract a new workforce for its global business and Kenaston will expand and diversify its employment base in the region. The Research Center was established in Kenaston after an extensive review of rural communities. “Establishing this call center is a testament to what rural and urban business communities can achieve when they work together,” said Dan Weber, Itracks President and CEO. “The people of Kenaston have been true partners and we thank them for welcoming us to the community.” “On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, I want to congratulate Itracks for their innovative approach to addressing a labour shortage by looking outside of the city, and the community of Kenaston for taking an active role in determining their future,” Premier Lorne Calvert said. “Together, we are working to guarantee that all Saskatchewan families and communities benefit from our province’s red-hot economy.” “We are fortunate to have companies like Itracks who are willing to invest in rural Saskatchewan and thereby improve the quality of life in small communities,” said Mayor Dan O’Handley. Itracks Research Center employs 11 individuals from Kenaston and surrounding area. The 10-seat center for survey research can quickly expand to 18 if necessary, bringing quality jobs to the community. Kenaston employees have surveyed American and Canadian citizens on topics as diverse as hot dogs to sporting events. The town of Kenaston added to the festivities by hosting the Snowmobile Rally for Breast Cancer Lunch and holding an afternoon skating party.
