SASKATOON, SK, CANADA (June 23, 2011) itracks, world-leading provider of online qualitative research, and Artafact, a California-based company, participated in a Markman hearing on April 6, 2011. The pretrial hearing allowed a judge to examine evidence from both parties regarding claim construction of U.S. Patent No. 6,256,663, regarding a system and method of conducting online focus groups using remotely-located participants.
On June 1, 2011, the Court issued its ruling on claim construction, accepting itracks′ position on the disputed patent infringement.
“The Court′s ruling is a significant step towards final resolution of the infringement case,” stated Dan Weber, CEO of itracks. “The court′s decision should positively impact other research companies and how they conduct their operations. We look forward to an amicable resolution and putting the infringement issue behind us.”
